Apparently there is a lot more going on tomorrow than the masquerade at TAUSEND. Basically there is everything from a fashion store opening to a rave at Berghain.

The opening of FIRMAMENT in Linienstraße 40, 16:00 – 21:00
Restaurant opening, La Pulqueria at Spreewaldplatz 5 (Kreuzberg)
SPEX Live at Berghain, 21:00 – ?
BETTER THAN FICTION by Stylemag at Smart Urban Stage, 20 – 23:00

- and of course the place of the moment where a certain circle of people seems to be hanging EVERY night according to their Facebook updates: SOHO House.

- I wonder if I’ll get a strafe since I’ve only been there once since the opening. Better go tonight!

And my plans tomorrow? I’ll be sitting in a bar in Friedrichshain with a native Berliner and a wodka tonic – MIT Limette.

Welcome to China

On Friday, Annamaria and I were invited for dinner at Ming Dynastie, one of two restaurants in Berlin belonging to Heinrich Chen and his family (love the name!).

This is one of those gems hidden in a touristy location like Europacenter and with a simple décor far from hip but do your tastebuds a favour and enter!

I’ve always associated the Chinese kitchen with greasy noodles and sweet & sour sauce but the food we were served on Friday was so authentic, rich and delicious!

Appearantly authenticity characterises the Sichuan and Huaiyang cuisine that Ming Dynastie represents. Okay, so I could have been without the boiled chicken feet and the pig’s ear but sometimes you have to try something new.

Heinrich joined us for dinner and told us about the Sichuan and Huaiyang cuisine and was such an entertaining host!

But beware if you go there and he suggests the “Rosenschnapps” as a digestive. At least don’t judge this bottle on the innocent rose/orange colour. Not even the taste reflects the 54% content.

For the wish list?

On a recent evening in West Berlin I passed by an antique store where they had this beautiful jewellery in the window display.

Would have loved to see what else was in the store but it was past closing time. Spotted some great furniture and art pieces too.

My favorites: the domino bracelet, necklace and small studs in the second photo and the bone bracelet in the back on the third photo.

I don’t know the name of the store but it was located here

Just around the corner from the antique store was this other jewellery store with some beautiful body pieces. €3.000 is juuust a bit more than I would pay though. That was the price of the left item.

They had some other quite interesting pieces as well. I couldn’t really figure out exactly how to wear them but I think they were made more for….hmm, the more intimate parts of the body. Somehow. I think. Store is located here
