I then reply, “Yeah, but there is a reason why I live in Berlin”.

Well, it is a beautiful city but it’s not all about the looks! Or so my mom says.

Here’s a walk through central Copenhagen on a rainy day. All familiar spots to an insider, maybe to you too. Will post some more over the next couple of days.


Changing of the Royal Danish Guards. Every day, 12:00 at Amalienborg, followed by a march through the city.

The crowd was a bit young but excellent music. Obviously Leoparddrengen “Leopard boy” spiced things up with his Berghain worthy moves.

- Flavour will laugh at this: It turned out I knew someone at the door, so we got in without a ticket.

Vibskov’s A/W 2010 collection was very fine indeed! The venue was a big warehouse, we sat on wooden benches and the drinks: golden ladies in a can. Only drawback: it was arschkalt.

Very laidback atmosphere with help-yourself Budweisers and vodka/soda. Unlike how fashion week can be. Instead of a show, a short movie presenting the collection (The Walk) was projected on the walls.

Soulland, founded by selftaught designer Silas Adler when he was only 17, hosted the party together with Danish online fashion store YOUHESHE.COM

Danish designer Stine Goya was there too along with two friends. All dressed in designs from her S/S 2010 collection.

I’ve mentioned the place in a previous post.

They make the best sushi I’ve ever had! By far. I’ve known the sushi guru since 2002 when I was waitering at the place he did his magic before Umami. The gaming girl worked there too. So we go waaay back. Which entitles us to special treatment. Which we like.

The reason for the title of this post is that a friend (the trendspotter) tried to reach me yesterday but I figured I’d call him back today, when in Berlin again. So today he tells me he had an extra ticket for the Prodigy concert, which was also last night. Here in Berlin. Afterparty and all….hmm.

As I said..can’t have it all. And my, do I have problems!
