I don’t care as long as you sing

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Tomorrow. Broken Hearts Club + Cookies = Karaoke.

I’m not really a fan of karaoke. Basically I dislike karaoke as much as bowling. I’ve even used the word “hate” about bowling. Which is maybe a bit übertrieben. Hate is a strong word.

But when you’re with the right people everything can be fun. AND there’s a live band supporting the overlooked talents amongst you.

Welcome drink: 20:00
Dinner: 21:00
Singing, drinks and food: €39
cream@cookies.ch for reservations

Berliner punk/rock/alternative band Beatsteaks… – not the karaoke supporting band. Then I’d be there on the spot!

Speaking of…

Heidestraße, some people I know are hosting a small party at one of the galleries on Thursday.

Anti Art School at White Trash

Friday, March 19th, 2010

I wish I could go! Love sketching but do it far too selten. Tomorrow is the 6th round of Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art School Berlin!

As White Trash describe it: Two bright stars from Berlin’s Burlesque sky will shine ever so delightfully on their little life-drawing session!

“Beisammen im Bad”

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

With Bäder still fresh in memory, why not mention the concert at Stadtbad Wedding on Thursday.

The 12-people Icelandic string ensemble, Skark, will perform in an installation by French artist Nicolas Dusollier while Austrian artist Ingrid Hora presents a video exhibition.

Sounds very multidisciplinary. Doors open at 21:00. €4,00 entrance.

Wet water, water wet

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Totally nonsense titel, just liked the ring of it.
After seeing this video, I hope somebody will organise a water fight here in Berlin – as soon as the weather allows it.

Credits to LUKE for bringing it to my attention.

Because ordinary is no place to be

Received this invitation for an event next week. Wanted to show you, because of the extraordinary format.

This is what it’s about:

TOY made ONE

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

On Friday we popped in at the TOY made ONE event at UNDPLUS on our way to the concert with Florence and the Machine at Astra. Amazing voice she has btw. That Florence Welch.

Ride, ride, ride your bike

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Just took Victor out for the first spin in three months (!!!) and when I came home there was an invitation to BERLINER FAHRRAD SCHAU in my mailbox.

Bikes in the classic sense as well as innovative concepts for intelligent mobility are on show. So are hip accessories and whatever equipment you can imagine.

There will be Live-shows and Test-Parcours as well (? – actually don’t know what that means)

Well, dust off your bike and ride it to STATION-Berlin this weekend. The bike season is on!

Now that we’re on the subject, I’ve been dreaming of one of the beauties from Copenhagen bike manufacturer Cykelmageren for a while. Perfection.

Brunn Brunn Brunn

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Brunnenstraße is the little sister of Torstraße I’d say. Yet another “stop by for free becks and mingle” event. Be their guest. Lodown.

Thoughts on language, a singer who keeps old songs in coloured vials in her fridge and a post-surgical DJ

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

If the titel arouses your curiosity, Kaffee Burger is the place you should go to tonight.

Exberliner is hosting an event where Swedish writer Jonas Hassen Khemiri will read from his recently published short stories “An Attemmpt at Nuclear Physics” and “Unchanged Unending”.

Afterwards, Brighton-based Brit-Folk singer MARY HAMPTON gives a concert before “post-surgical DJ Shiner” (whatever that means) spins records.

Entry is 5 Euros
