Stumpled upon another video from Bar 25. This one is not a documentary but some music video? Lots of great outfits!
See you there in about an hour! – or at the carnival in Kreuzberg. Happy Sunday!

At least for those going to the Sophie Hunger concert at Astra on May 27th. Tickets still available!
If you are not familiar with her voice yet, do visit her Myspace profile! Swizz sweetness.
She normally sings in English but this song is so süß – and I guess kind of sad – that you get a German Beispiel.

Mini documentary on our beloved bar. Unfortunately only in German.
My plans for Saturday are I have no plans and I do not intend to make any. But if you are open to suggestions, maybe this is it?

Please, do yourself the favour to go watch Flhip Flhop! As mentioned, I went to the premiere on Friday and I laughed so hard I had musscle pains the day after.
- and no, that doesn’t say more about my abs than about the play!
I’m not really a hip hop fan but I absolutely LOVED the combination of dancing, beat-boxing, joking, fighting, teasing, jumping, crying and laughing. Amazing choreography, soundtrack and chemistry between Ernest and Eugene, the two actors.
Note, the play is in German! Programme info on website.

A friend invited me to go see Florence and the Machine next Friday at Astra. MERCI !!
Tickets are still available!
On Wednesday I went to this event sponsored by Nissan. The concept is not quite clear to me but there’s a new artist presents her/his work every Wednesday to Saturday throughout five weeks plus it’s a way to promote the Nissan Cube.
Unfortunately the place was pretty empty. Which makes you wonder….free drinks, fingerfood, nice music. Why would people not come? That fact + the unclear concept screams: Communication problem!
I know there are endless events like that every night in Berlin but there are also lots of broke people. And that’s a fact. Believe there’s one week left, maybe they can catch up? I really liked the venue, music was good and drinks very tasty. We’ll see.

My friend Maaria who writes this quite entertaining blog was there too – incl NKOTB and new tattoo

Models, delicious drinks and Stephén aka Jered aka Space exploring the Cube

I realised when flicking through my photos: there’s not a single one of the car in “full figure”. Oops. Out of curiosity I googled Nissan Cube and it’s actually an interesting car.
The design is quite unique – a word I’d rather use than cool, since there will probably be a difference of oppinion – and with 27 (city) km/l it’s environmentally friendly. It will even be produced as an electric car in 2012. Enough auto talk if you want to know more. Google!
Spinning girls with colored “stones”, Ami in her admirable Ukrainian look, and Cube frontal

Alex when I went home

Went to an illegal/a secret party last night. Appearantly so secret that either only very few people knew about it or very few people were able to find it. But cool venue. Very Friedrichshain run down. Did some photo documentary and went home.

Sorry for the late post but was at a conference all day. More on that this weekend.
M.I.K.Z (which apparently stands for Multikulturell Internationales Kultur Zentrum) is hosting a party in Revalerstraße tonight. I haven’t been at the venue before but from what I know about the people who organise it it could be a pretty cool thing.
Check it out if you’re in the neighborhood.
Line-up:
Shaun Reeves (Wolf + Lamb)
Andrea Fiorito (The Flame)
Francesco Assenza (Sleep is Commercial)
Topper (Noisy Glance/Good Vibe)
Gek (Sleep is Commercial)
Janina (Club der Visionäre)
Alexander Stone (I Have To Rave)
Krisiman (Acoustic Set)

I would probably go to Suicide Circus in Revalerstraße. I’ve known Daniel (David Keno) from around almost since I moved to Berlin and he makes music with some friends of mine.
Haven’t heard him play in a looooong time though so would pop in on my way home. Also to check out the venue. Haven’t been there yet.

- all of those small, partly unofficial events taking place in empty, “scruffy” places. Often vernissages, exhibitions or the like where people use the occassion to go somewhere new, drink cheap sparkling wine or becks and chat while a hobby-dj is spinning experimental records – and 80% of the people have lived in Berlin less than two years.
I don’t want to sound offensive. Just trying to describe it. It can be quite fun!
My friend Stéphen is throwing one of these events in his gallery tonight. So if you don’t know what I’m talking about but want to experience it yourself – go to Friedrichshain. I would if I were in Berlin. Not only because it’s Stéphen (and therefor cool) but because we should all go somewhere new sometimes.
