Kantine in Joachimstraße. Appereantly not a new venue but totally slipped my attention. Thanks Eva for enlightening me in time – Kantine will close around March, I hear.

The snow man army

Contribute with your personal warrior! A group of people took the initiative to make a snow man building day tomorrow. Bring cabbage, carrots and whatelse makes up the perfect snow man (toy weapons might be a bit risky these days).

They’re organising a mobile sound system and booze – if you’ve got a Glühwein Bauchladen or other supplies to sell feel free to join!

Temporary art space MMX is hosting a talk next Wednesday by a representative from BMKB, an organization that offers consultation to artists for health insurance, legal advice and the artist social security system here in Germany.

The talk will primarily be in English with Q&A in both German and English. Sign up on FB today the latest!

Also, better visit the current and last exhibition soon in case you haven’t been yet. As planned MMX’s closing down in December! The guys are already working on the next project though! Stay tuned for spring!

Once upon a time there was a wall

If you don’t just want to connect a bit of history to the pretty paintings at Eastside Gallery but to learn more about the Berlin Wall you should go to Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer.

The whole area has been going through an re-construction process (ending 2011) with especially the outdoor exhibition being extended.

On Tuesday the Visitor Center is showing a movie portraying five people traumatized from spending in Stasi prison. “Gesicht zur Wand”. Starts at 19.30. Free entrance!
