Torstraße treasure

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

If you appreciate unpretentious, simple, charming little restaurants with an uneven price/quality relationship (as in the food is just that good) you will love Themroc!

Had dinner there on Sunday and fell in love. Super “tranquille” (thought this would be the right word to describe the atmosphere since the owners are French) and still professionel and competent.

The kitchen is open from 19:00 till orders stop coming in and the daily changing menu is displayed on a board outside. Just one starter/main/desert a day. Simple is better!

TOY made ONE

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

On Friday we popped in at the TOY made ONE event at UNDPLUS on our way to the concert with Florence and the Machine at Astra. Amazing voice she has btw. That Florence Welch.

Mi piace!

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Visited the guys from Second City Studio at their showroom on Saturday. Will post photos later this week!

They’re opening their doors for a sale this weekend. Make sure to stop by and check out the great styles from various Italian brands. Men’s and Women’s collections.

The smell of fresh coffee and leather

Monday, March 1st, 2010

On my walk on Thursday, I stopped by Burg & Schild in Rosa Luxemburg Straße. My first visit and I honestly don’t know why I didn’t stop by sooner.

- because they sell men’s wear would be the obvious answer but the interior design alone is reason enough to pop in. Besides James Dean it reminded me of the old John Wayne movies I’d watch with my dad on Sunday afternoons when I was a kid.

As previously mentioned I have a thing for this modern western/bike rider/lumber jack look. If you share my affection, pay the guys at B&S a visit.

Merci for the coffee Sebastian. Notice the detail with the tin cups!

Getting all nostalgic. (P.S I’d like to have the jacket of Arthur Hunnicutt and the hat of James Caan – didn’t even know he was in this movie)

Brunn Brunn Brunn

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Brunnenstraße is the little sister of Torstraße I’d say. Yet another “stop by for free becks and mingle” event. Be their guest. Lodown.

Thoughts on language, a singer who keeps old songs in coloured vials in her fridge and a post-surgical DJ

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

If the titel arouses your curiosity, Kaffee Burger is the place you should go to tonight.

Exberliner is hosting an event where Swedish writer Jonas Hassen Khemiri will read from his recently published short stories “An Attemmpt at Nuclear Physics” and “Unchanged Unending”.

Afterwards, Brighton-based Brit-Folk singer MARY HAMPTON gives a concert before “post-surgical DJ Shiner” (whatever that means) spins records.

Entry is 5 Euros
