I stop by The Sartorialist several times a week but this is the first time I’ve personally known one of the well-dressers on his site. Meet Daniel, the store manager of 14 oz in Berlin.

The reason why I’m bloody sick of this snow – besides the fact that it’s brain cell killing cold – is that I’m a dedicated bike rider. Maybe it’s a Danish thing?
So meet Victor. My darling. My love. Hanging safe and sounds on the wall in my bedroom until the weather allows me to take him for a spin.
I bought him on ebay.de from a guy here in Berlin about two years ago. Lot’s of racing bike to find there if you are looking to invest! Search for “Rennrad”.

“Local and international designers, exhibitors from projektGALERIE showroom and other creatives clear out their stock and offer unique designs and fashion at unbeatable prices.”
- sounds promising, maybe worth a visit?

I’m ÜBER-proud to announce the first (but not the last!) competition on my blog !!
I had so much positive respons on the feather lashes (photo) I bought on Saturday at Jacks Beauty Department so I stopped by the store again today to take some photos for the blog.
It is a true mecca for those of us who feel an urge to *shine* now or then (guys or girls). Walking in, you kind of feel like a child who just walked into a candy store. You loose track of time. All reason is gone and your vocabulary has been reduced to “I want!!”‘.
I had a nice chat with Miriam Jacks (the owner) to learn some more about the concept: Unique products she discovered on her many trips around the world working as a makeup artist. No compromise on quality (or skin friendliness). Fair prices. And of course presented in a lush design.
Miriam (who is now my favorite makeup expert) sponsored three pairs of ravishing feather lashes and a special DUO Eyelash Adhesive glue (total value €45,00) that YOU have the chance to win!

NOTE: there is a sale in the store in Sredzkistraße right now with 20 – 50 % off!

COMPETITION
Go to the ONLINE STORE (link), find the PRICE on the “FLAMINGO GLITTER” (love the name!) and send the answer in an email to iwantit(at)uduak.org.
The competition ends on Sunday, January 17 at 8:00 pm – local time if there is any doubt. I will then draw lots and publish the winner on Monday.
If she (or he) lives in Berlin the price will hopefully arrive in time (may Deutsche Post be with us) for one – or three – of the many events for the Berlin Fashion Week. More on those later.
Good Luck !!

With the way it’s snowing today going to Mauerpark fleemarket tomorrow seems very little attractive. So check out the indoor fleemarket Sunday Extraordinaire at .HBC instead. Find pictures from previous fleemarkets on their BLOG.

I saw these matryoshka dolls on Redspective a while back but thought €250 was over the top. Now there’s a 30% online discount (until 16. January). Is €175 for five wooden “dolls“ money well spend? Right after Christmas. Hmm.
Redspective present independent designers and urban fine-art in their online-shop and their gallery in Berlin Mitte. Check out their website for more info. Lot’s of fine designs – other Matryoshka designs too!
The Redspective mix:
1 Bucket of artist expression
1 Handful of labels we love
1 Tablespoon of eastern flavouring
2 Pinches of a Red past
Bake briskly at high temperatures, and set to cool in the centre of Berlin

Starting today: 50% on FW09: Y-3, adidas SLVR Label, adidas Originals, Consortium, adidas by Stella McCartney and ObyO
At No74, Torstraße 74

When I’m back in Berlin, I will go check out his store: Nr4 is a new store and showroom in Kreuzberg.
In their own words they “feature smart and innovative women’s clothes and accessories by young designers from Europe and the US, such as Daphne and Vera Correll, Hui Hui, Marie-Louise Vogt , Klein Corpse, Mirror and Susanne Schmitt”.
The store is located on the first floor balcony of a 1970’s landmark social housing project. According to shop owner Desiree Klein they will be making use of the store’s unique location to host a series of live concerts and events on its outside balcony during the summer.
I’m looking forward!

Stopped by No74 in Torstraße last Thursday for a glass of glühwein. Here are a couple of photos from the store. Stop by if you’re in the area!

Had to think of my roommate when I saw these shirts. He just took off to South Africa for six weeks. Will spend Christmas exploring Namibia. I’m not jealous. Not at all.

Ulf Haines in Rosa-Luxemburg Straße is one of my favorite clothing stores in Berlin. Also one of the more expensive ones. Which is why most of my visits there are more about getting inspiration than actually getting clothes.
With the upcoming sale I might be able to find something that suits my budget. Though I have my doubts. It’s not like December is the cheapest month of the year. But one can always go have a look!
Find labels like Helmut Lang, Pauric Sweeney, Humanoid, Isaac Sellam, Ann Demeulemeister and many more in that league.
