Melody in private chambers

Monday, January 17th, 2011

Went to a little concert last night. Tiny actually. Thirty people on stools and couches in a private studio/appartment.

Probably the most intense, impassioned, vivid music experience I’ve ever had. And it wasn’t even my normal kind of music. Some jazz genre which I really wouldn’t know what is called.

The event gave me a couple of ideas….if you are a musician playing an instrument – or managing artists – feel free to get in touch.

- and merci Sebastian! **

Still here! Just caught up in work.

A few Christmas settings from around Berlin. Happy Holidays!

The snow man army

Friday, December 3rd, 2010

Contribute with your personal warrior! A group of people took the initiative to make a snow man building day tomorrow. Bring cabbage, carrots and whatelse makes up the perfect snow man (toy weapons might be a bit risky these days).

They’re organising a mobile sound system and booze – if you’ve got a Glühwein Bauchladen or other supplies to sell feel free to join!

Place: The area between Linksstraße and Gabriele-Tergit-Promenade (Potsdamer Platz)

A bit of history

Great footage in this short feature!

Fashion meets food

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

A combination which seems non-existing when you read fashion magazines or watch run way shows. Well, good thing Berlin is different!

Another vegan concept. They seem really into that in Neukölln. None the less, Sing Blackbird is worth a visit! For example tomorrow for the Sonntag Flohmarkt.

Donald the daring

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Donald is a true explorer in the sense of gaining access to old, deserted (scary) buildings in and around Berlin. That’s why I think he’s daring.

Here are some of his photos from the old hospital in Beelitz-Heilstätten. What this building has seen! Do yourself a favour and google it). Everything from housing Hitler in 1916 to being used as a location for The Pianist (2002).

The father of underground

Friday, October 29th, 2010

Actually *the underground aka BVG. Ernst Reuter, a visionary man who saw the need for public transportation and “hiding” traffic beneath the streets in the early 20th century.

I have to admit I’m not a fan of travelling beneath the ground – you see nothing! Which is why I ride my bike around the city. Unfortunately bike riding does not fit with the Berlin Winter.

Always a trade-off: freeze to death, see nothing, polute (car driving). Your choice.
