Friends have started planning their Capetonian “winter”. “We’ll rent a big house with a pool, come!”. So … anyone needs some market research done in Cape Town?
Photos from feb/march 2009

√ Live in country side villa with pool (tip: one where neighbour doesn’t have barking dog)
√ Eat cured ham bocadillos at Bar Costa in Santa Gertrudis
√ Do a picknick and watch the sunset at Punte Galera (small note: Risk of seeing intimate bodyparts; nudist beach)
√ Visit the Saturday market at Sant Jordi and the Wednesday market in Es Canar
√ Eat a simple Spanish meal at Cormida Bar San Juan (Ibiza Town) – house Rosé is €5. A bottle! And tasty!
√ Have a drink at the Rock in “La Puerta”, Ibiza Town and watch very well build (and almost naked) dancers parade
√ Tan at Cala Salada and drink €5 Mojito, freshly made by Spanish dude with afro wig
√ Go fig and grape scrumping on neighbour’s field
√ Party with We Love Space backstage pass, celebrate birthday at DC10 (Monday daytime) and go V.I.P at Pacha with the three best girls in town

A few images from Ibiza. Haven’t really had the opportunity to take my D60 with me so you’ll have to settle with iPhone photos for now.
Beach behind the hills. Local but appearantly not so secret.

Space customer care. In case you need directions….

@ Space, Before the row. Spangled WE LOVE smiley

I’m off to Ibiza for the rest of the month. But I prepared some posts in advance so you won’t even feel it!
- and I am bringing my camera so hope to post some documentation…

A few impressions and a “what to do when in Helsinki”…
- Buy pees at the Kauppatori market and eat them at the water front
- Go shopping in the Punavuori district
- Walk along the “marina” and eat a super size ice cream from Magi
- Eat Finnish Sapas (tapas) at Jurii
- Attend a Finnish/Mexican wedding
- Buy Finnish jewellery from old lady in antique shop on Eerikinkatu
- Eat the rye bread thingees with rice and cheese (don’t remember the name)
- Drink Gin (the 2010 “Bacardi Breezer” with Gin)
- Leave your Kiasma entrance sticker somewhere outside when leaving the museum
- Watch Finnish people drunk – no, wasted – and hear male high pitch voices go “Woooh!!” before 00.00 at Pohjoinen Rautatiekatu 21. Then go to YK Club

Thick wooden floors, solid stone walls and windows that make a window cleaner want to quit his job. The perfect loft apartment. Very few people have one. Which makes it even more desirable.
For the short term solution in Berlin find your favorite on Urban Apartments Berlin.

Photo taken on the train to Vienna Airport on Wednesday. Have to say, I love the colors. Don’t know how they turned out like that?

For a while, I’ve been wanting to check out the Asian market in Lichtenberg, Dong Xuan Center. I was travelling around Vietnam for a month seven years ago and going back soon is on my travel wish list. Until then I have to settle with Lichtenberg.
Not that I was over-excited about Vietnam back then. I had quite a culture shock, coming from a city with 25.000 inhabitants in the idyllic, calm, Danish countryside. But thinking back, it was a truly amazing country – meaning people, culture, food, nature.
I scanned some photos from the trip. Not really the 12 MP resolution, ISO supersensitive, high definition quality we get these days but that makes me love the photos even more. Looks like a different lifetime.
And yes, there is a photo of an eco-looking backpacker-me (referring to the hiking sandals).

Off to an evening organised by the Moroccan Tourist Board.
The RedNight takes place in Milan, Paris, London, New York and Berlin. - Discover the spirit, atmosphere and charm of this “red city”.
As always, for me the highlight is the food. A three course menu for 300 people. Glad I’m not cooking!

From our visit at The Marble Church, Copenhagen last weekend. When I visit a place like this I
1. get inspired by the structure, atmosphere and historic dimension
2. experience a state where I just observe and let thoughts flow
Why don’t I go more often?

- standard line whenever people I meet discover I used to live there. I then reply, “Yeah, but there is a reason why I live in Berlin”.
Well, it is a beautiful city but it’s not all about the looks! Or so my mom says.
Here’s a walk through central Copenhagen on a rainy day. All familiar spots to an insider, maybe to you too. Will post some more over the next couple of days.

Changing of the Royal Danish Guards. Every day, 12:00 at Amalienborg, followed by a march through the city.

View from the tower of The Marble Church. Access to tower: Sat & Sun, 13:00 and 16:00.

Halfway to the top of the tower, there’s a small exhibition.

Sandwich place in Store Kongensgade in “Danish colors”.

Photo speaks for itself. Taste.

Decór store with attitude. Dress up for a visit. Casa Shop.

Everything is stylish in Copenhagen

The old Zoo Bar: Trashy place meets Copenhagen hipsters. New location: same people different deco.

Will somebody open a 7-11 in Berlin already! “Frozen coffee” to die for + fun, overprized Ami food

Last post from Copenhagen! As the Wood Wood party got to crowded on Saturday I went to Ideal Bar where some friends where playing.
The crowd was a bit young but excellent music. Obviously Leoparddrengen “Leopard boy” spiced things up with his Berghain worthy moves.
